Heart, and I shall embrace every opportunity to
manifest my friendship for a people, to whom
I am bound by every Tie, which can influence
a grateful Breast; - a people who, from my
earliest progress in Life, have extended to me,
their generous and uniform support, and amidst
every change of the political Hemisphere,
have honored me, with their undiminished
public confidence.

I shall set out in a few days, for the Town
of Natchez; - upon leaving my old friends, I
feel my sensibility much oppressed; -But I
