Sir

Your letter of the 25 July ultimo is now before me,- unfortunately
at the time of the arrival of your letter I was absent from home, otherwise
Ishould have been myself the honor of replying immeadiately on the
receipt of your letter thereof of the same - Imost heartily concur with you, that the
Indian aggressors must ought to make restitution to Mr McNable, for the
damage they have done him, and ^you may assure yourself
that Ishall take the earliest measures to have the same
affected- and also that they give a satisfactory explanation
for the daring insult offered to the Citizens of our Government

I have the honor to be sir
with highest respect & Consideration
Your mo. ob. & Hbl Servt
