Knoxville 2d June 1806.

Sir.

This letter will be handed to your Excellency by
Thomas Buckingham esquire, who is has been duly appointed
under the authority of this State, as an Agent to receive from
the Office of the Secretary of the State over which you
Preside, all the books and Papers contemplated by the new
Act passed by the Legislature of the State of North
Carolina, entitled "An act to authorize the State of Tennessee
to perfect titles to lands reserved to this state by the Cession
Act" - Which books and papers you will please cause to
be delivered to him -
