Sir

On consulting General Robertson on the subject of the Treaty
he appears to be of opinion that as the Cherokee Cheifs [sic] did not choose ^or could not
to attend the time first proposed and to which they were invited,
that we can not on our parts make it convenient to commence
the negociation [sic] before the first day of December next, and in
which opinion I myself coincide, and hope it will be fully as
convenient, if not more so to the cheifs [sic], to meet us on that day to which
time I beg you will please to ^notify and invite them:- I hope by this postpone
=ment, we shall get rid of the company of a number of troublesome
and jealous pated fellows, who will be out hunting, and I
wish as much as possible to avoid the company of all such

And also communicate inform Mr inform Messrs Clark & Lyon
of the Intended time -

I have the honor, to be ^Sir, very respectfully
Your most obed.t Hbl Serv.t

(Signed)
