Congress should pass a law this Session - our Legis=
=lature will have to act on the amendment to
the Constitution - They have already resolved to
meets on the land business - It is expected in the
spring, and in this, I know the people will not
bear disappointment
Considering the funds of our state it certainly
will be highly oppressive in a pecuniary point
of view for the legislature to meet in the course
of the next spring, on the amendt to the Const; and
not being able to do anything in the land business,
for want of the assent of Congress, be obliged to meet
again on that business, after the next Session of
Congress.
It has already been observed that such
is the impatience of the people to get their titles,
that in all events the state of Tennessee will issue
Grants in the beginning of summer at fur=
=thest - If you deem it necessary you may
communicate these observations to our friends
in Congress -
