We are using the utmost industry possible
to complete such copies as may be necessary
in order to check the issuing of Grants
On the 10th of March I must have
this place for Tennessee, and will
complete all that can be done before
that time - Should other papers be wanting
the Legislature will have them taken
when the Books are sent for - It will
not be in the power of the agent to
procure the numbers &c of the Grants which
issued from upon warrants from Carters office
As they are dispersed through 85 volumes
It would cost the state between three
and four hundred dollars, and not
possible to do it within the time mentioned
When all the Grants belonging
to Tennessee are copied, it can be done
at less than half the expense
There is not to be found
in the office any record of the warrants
which issued to Evans' Batalion, other
