I do hereby certify that Alex Nelson hath performed
the duties which the Law requires of him as Sheriff of
Hawkins County in making a return of the Votes
given in Hawkins County for Electors to Elect a Pres^t
and Vice President of the United States, and that
he is intitled [sic] ^to the sum ten Doll^s Eighty five cents for
traveling 60 miles and three days attenden [sic] two
days in taking the Votes in his own County, and
one day in Comparing the Votes in the place where
the Laws derect Given Under hand this
fifth day of Nov^r 1804
