Sir I was duley honered with your [?]
in your Exellencey had notifyed me that
the indians had posponed the treaty untill
the 25th of September. I was on my way as
[?] as this place the 14th instant in the
morning when I found your ^letter which had
come in the Evening before. I had set the
12th to start and had ordred the young man
who I had ingaged to be at my house the 11th
but luckerly saw some men who had rode
through the Cherokee Nation from georgia
and informed me that the treaty was put of[f]
unto a longer day. I then connetuded ^concluded to stay untill
the mail came not doubting but you would
notify me if so. I would have bin [fond?]
the time had ^bin kept. and as it is [altered?] I
fulley agree that the first of december or last
of November would be the best time or
later if it should sute other way, and it will
give more time for the general goverment
to treate for the remander on the North side
of Tennessee River if they chuse, and the hunting
Indians will be out: for it will not do for
to have maney at the treaty. I shold write to
Colo Meigs on the subject would it not be
well that your Exellency and the Colo ^to write
to the secretary of war. on your first warrents
you delivered me three two for 200 dollars each
and one for 100 and your last two of 5000 I
