Dear Father

I wrote to you yesterday. I intend to write to you a little every day

You said that you thought that we had a daily mail now. we have a daily stage[underlined] but not a daily mail[underlined].

Mr Ferguson broke his log chain last night and had to go to Chicago for new ones. So that the office is not any nearer than it was before he touched it. but he has got it all ready to start and will not take long if he chooses to do it.

Freddy Barkis left here this morning.

I have got a bad cold as in fact we all have more or le[strikethrough] less.

We had a bad[strikethrough] first rate school to-day. We read from Byron evrey day.
