Dear Sir:
Your kind letter of 15 July was duly recd.
- Five nos. of my Book have been published and I have
delayed answering your letter expecting to have the 6th no.
ready before this time, when I intended to send the six nos.
in a package to you, as you had the kindness to request,
- I have been disappointed however, by the Engraver and
will you probably have to wait two weeks, but at the
earliest moment will send the pkg.
I shall be greatly obliged by any exertions you may do
me the favor to make, and if five subscribers can be obtained
I will with pleasure send six copies, if you will accept
the additional copy, and consider myself still indebted
for your kindness, - as present my prospect is to
discontinue the work as originally proposed at the
completion of 10 nos. - though I have much material
for continuing the publication.
very respectfully
John Cassin
Robert N. Kennicott Esqr
Chicago
Ill.
If necessary or important I can send the 5 nos. immediately.
