1854 March[in pencil] 133 [circled in ink different from letter ink] Racine Wednesday Dear Father, Here all right. Doct Hoy & lady very pleasant. I shall learn a great deal. It seems Ingman (Secy of Wis Soc'y) played the rogue. could not account for all funds placed in his hands - He got rich!. He got himself again elected but was by unfair means and was kicked out or at least was so very[double underlined] strongly advised to resign that he did so. The new Sec'y is a Milwau -kee man Dr Hoy has forgotten his name. A good man he says If It is rather cold. A few birds are out. Dr & I are now going to look for some ducks. Dont know anything to say of enough importance to write with such an infernal pen. Bob

P.S. Mr Jenkinks of is The Cor. Sec'y[134 circled in different ink] of Wis. Ag'l. Soc'y. He resides at Madison. Mr Phillips was to make me some insect cases. In case he has not commenced them I wish instead of such as I ordered he would make me. I'll I had better let him make such as I told him lest he should make some blunder. Tell [illegible] to say to him if he has not made them (the cases I directed) that I am anxious to have them as soon as possible. Such cases as I ordered will be about The Thing after all for me Doct Hoy says. Dr Hoy has got lots of insects - He has just bought a coon is going to set him up, Bob
