Jonesborough Ills. June 15th 1855

Dear Sir

I have this morning, forwarded to your address, at Decatur,, two letters, from Washington City, according to promise, and I hope these letters will give you comfort & satisfaction.

I have but little to communicate to you, likely to prove interesting - inasmuch as I have been out in the Country but once scince your departure,, and was not then fortunate enough to find any-thing which was likely to prove valuable, or calculated to elucidate or advance science, in any of his numerous branches. But Robert you may fully rely on me, that I will not suffer, a snake, toad, Frog, or "[illegible] Hook, "[Illegible] [illegible]" to pass me unnoticing, (and where worthy) or unpreserving.

I will inform you that the wedding came off the morning after you left my house, (being a private affair altogether) and Mr & Mrs Kratzinger started in an hour for Chicago, followed by the tears, & warm wishes of the whole family -

You must be certain to call and see us - when you come to Jonesborough, and commend me to your father when you reach Home, I had almost forgot to say. I read your article, on the Wren, & must say it gave me great pleasure & is a production which would do credit to a much older ornithologist - Scincerely your friend Sidney S. Condon M.D.
