I have just received two boxes of labeed insects from Prof. Kirtland which I will use, then send to you as instructed by the Dr.
I received a box of plants and bulbs from you and the rest of the Kennicots for which I and Mrs Hoy are eternally thankful. We will remember the donor when they flower.
I shot a splended Hawk Owl a few days since, he came down from his arctic home a head of the first winter storms - dont the birds know more about the weather than we boasting blustering little lords of creation?
From Lapham I received the Ibix skins and the specimen of wood - good firt rate I am glad you are studying medicine If I mistake not you will make a discrimintg
