My Dear Robert
I regretted to learn by your letter of the 24' that "You had been obliged to give up college. Still you will have plenty of time yet, and you had better adopt my suggestion of confining your self to the Bones; which you can study at home without injury to eyes.
I hoped to have had the agent of U. S. Express Co. rapped over the Knuckles, and may yet accomplish it. This much has already been accomplished: the President has sent Instructions to the Supt. of the western division to authorize the

agent at Chicago to receive all packages offered for the Sm. Inst. without prepayment of charges.
