Working in Love 21/56.
Dear Robt.
I will do my best to find you some constitution to serve as pattern for yur Society, and will lend soon as I can lay my hands on one
I have sent the money for the pins to Mr. Geo. N. Laurence, Pearl St, New York and requested him to procure and forward to you. He is one of our first Ornithologists, and you should know him. I commend you to him. He is a whilesale druggest.
I have sent both Dr Clark and Miss Helen the pamphlets
Your notes on the snakes are very interesting. Cant you make out a series of articles

on the habits of our reptiles.
I have not yet sent Dr. Holbrook the specimens, so many you wrote you had. or would send that I wanted for a fresh list.
Mr. Girard was much pleased with the orthoptera; he has been so busy with his medical studies and other specialities that he was unable to do much with them.
I wish you would collect Hymenoptera extensively: bees, wasps &c. A Swiss gentleman is going to prepare for us a work on the N. American species, and wants all he can get
Very truly Yours Spencer F Baird
