Dear Aunt Avis,

There is no doubt that your trouble is rheumatic.

Dr Andrews directions are that you take the following prescription

"Take Bicarbonate of soda 2 oz " " " potash 2. oz. " dissolve them in a pint " of water (snow water) and " take a tablespoonful 6 times " a day (every 4 hours)

Take aqua ammonia four ounces add twice as much water. - with this wet a cloth eight inches square and wear it over next the skin over the region

Region affected - renewing the wetting several times a day.

Keep in the house near the stove - and in a dry atmosphere.

Eat no meat

I hope to hear that you are well ere Jim leaves. -

Even if the rhematism remains only in the joints the soda and potash will afford relief. - The ammonia is better than mustard.

Yours in Haste Love to you all Bob.
