Since writing the [illegible] I have seen the aforsaid
young man - (Mr Ray) He is a graduate of some Literary
institution in Ohio - has taught "Classics"
& "Higher English branches" he says - He is probably
a good scholar but he is young (21) and inclined
to be a little conceited or so perhaps. He has talked
of becoming a minister etc - etc - He comes well
reccommended but on the whole I am not
inclined to like him for a teacher - He
let me know if he anyone coms in father will
come in on Saturday - if not Mr Ray will go
out Saturday morning in cars or stage

Father had better talk him over carefully and
not accept him if he is not suitable. I told
him twould be doubtful - while he too says
he is by no means sure hell take the place
If you write to me on Friday Ill probably get the
letter the same evening and Mr Ray is to [illegible]
meet me and If if I dont hear at all Ill He will
go out Saturday - But Dont take him unless
you like him - I will continue to look
further
