Dr Dr. Shaw wrote
me a note a few days since
to learn what specimens for our
cabinet (BS.N.H) are wanted, from
the catalogue published in the
Transactions of the Illinois State
Agricultural So. Vol. 1.1853 & '54
on examination [illegible] neg. at
the City Library (the copy in the
Library of BSNH being out) I find
the reports there give a very
limited list in the branch of
Conchology, & I have only
made a list of a few of the
most desirable of them, yet
we have no objections to receiv-
ing a suite of the shells of the State
