Home - May 8'

I could not visit you now, Bob - if I would - I had a very bad turn last night - Something about the Urinary function - I think - very painful for a few hours - but nearly easy now -

Poor Mother and the girls - all alone, and such [illegible] of men and visitors -

I have written hasty lines to both Frank & Bragdon - I am almost inclined to let them go their own way - I must either consider them very weak minded, or as having no love for me - no confidence in me[double underline]. It is an insult to my character, and my good feeling and good acts to them. They had not the least grounds for their folly - I said nothing to Mr Wright that I had not previously said to Brag=don and I think Frank too

[page turned written on left side margin] You had letters sent to Cairo - two double ones [page torn]- =tainly

Bragdon has sent several envelopes to me (enclosing misdirected letters) but has never written a line, except my ad=dress - This accounts for it - He is not the man I thought him - too much "dignity" for his consequence. And now Bob, it was right for you to reply to Frank, and inform me - but dont waste time on such weak headed young men - Kind hearted though they be. I am sorry for their foolishness - and as I have always liked them I will try & forget it -

I am glad you are better - I may still visit you this month - but not immediately - We are awfully pressed with work - and bothersome, little orders coming in all the time - and now all our new purchases on [illegible page torn]

God keep you. Old Father
