Dear sir,
After an absence of several days, I found a letter
from you to which I could not answer before this,
Mr Cavelier's men being off, when I came back. However,
I shall not forget your wishes and will try to get
the specimen of coal - &c and address them to you
next spring. I consider it a praize worthy duty to
encourrage men of education who are busy in
investigations that can lead to knowledge, and I
would feel happy to be of some use in that line,
as far it would be in my power -
