Dear Bob,

I am almost ashamed to commence this letter so long after receiving yours but I trust in your great bunch of patience for forgivenes you must not forget to answer my letter a month or so because I did yours I will try and do better next time I think I hear you say that it is the old story but try me this time and if I do not live up to promises give me a good blowing up that's all.

I had a glorious good time the 4. I attended a dance here you dont care any thing about that though started for a pick nick in Brant but did not get there stoped on the way at a place called Hobuck and attended to the dancing fixing till 8, started for home and arrived at 12 finished up the dancing about five [illegible] and opened the store and the wind up of my glorious good time was feeling glorious bad and sleepy all the next day please tell me your experience on the 4, in your next

This is the last day of school for this term I am in hopes of going next term but am afraid that it will be as it always has cant be spared it is rather mean but I can stand it.

I was at Buffalo the other day but did not call on Ransoms folks because I had to go out in a rain and got so wet that I did not want to

I cannot write to day I worked in the hay field this afternoon till I could hardly stand I should not have commensed at all but happened to think about it and concluded to mind my failings and write immediately. Please ask Charlie wheather I answered his past letter or not it has been so long I have forgotten our folks Aunt Hills folks and all are well at present you must let this letter go for all it will and tare it up as soon as you read it keep a stif upper lip and be a good boy is the best advice of
