Dear Bob:

I just and returned from a visit to New York a few
hours ago and found your last lettre on the desk!
Your lists of the beetles are very welkcom to me -
but - alas - I take for the present very little notice
about them - because - I went strictly through
my Carabides & Erasers[?] - and every thing I could
spare - I put it away for your Collection properly
named - [page torn] so doing you get not only new ones -
but a great many specimens worth keeping
to distribute them among our friends up north.
Leconte went to New York also last monday - but
has not returned yet. I regard to the your
insects in Washington - send them on here
[illegible] immediately - because - now I can enclose
them in my studyes - after wards it would be
of great troble. Give the box to Salomon -
[word crossed out] he will do it for you - and me - he is a
good fellow! - I must confess - I long very
much for to see your unfortunates filures[?] again!
My best respect to [illegible] Stimpsonians and
Osten Sacker. Yours truley
Henry Ulke

[page turned]
Julius is always = Julius - like A = A and he
sends with me the best respects to you and your family!
