Lockhart (who wrote you for d-ltry last winter) at my suggestion) has gone into the zoology with a regular[underlined] rush[underlined] as small boys say. His collections are very valuable - has as many and as good eggs as I. I expect to get lots of undescribed salmon, white fish, trout, etc[strikethrough] pike etc

If you knew how busy I am getting eggs of such things as Aythya[underlined], Fulix[underlined], Maneca, Dafila, Buciphala[underlined], (ducks) Gallinago Phalanopus, Podiceps griseigina, Pediocetes, Tundus aliciae[underlined], Junco oregonus, etc etc (Woodworth or Dr Andrews know what these are and their value) you would not blame me for writing short letters - This and my early start for home makes me happy as the day is long, which is very[underlined] long[underlined] - some three weeks since the sun was not visible at midnight C[page torn]
