Saturday moning

just read yours of last wednesday
enclosing C.[underlined] Thoma's[underlined] - C.T. is a d-d
ass and wilberforce a ditto rascal - But
C.T. being more fool than knave must
be treated accordingly - He can get some
influence I know - not a very great
deal though - I will make no promise
to "unite interest" with him but of course
will help him in his work - He will
not collect any thing worth having I
fancy -

Ill play him a little, - and if he will
really study (which is doubtful) Ill of
course as Ive said give him specimens
etc -

Love to all
Bob

I believe this letter was written from Robert Kennicott to his father John Kennicott on Saturday, February 12, 1859, as it refers to a letter written by John the previous Wednesday and enclosing a letter from Cyrus Thomas. The Wednesday letter from John referred to was likely RK-742.
