Text of Petition (drag lower right corner to enlarge box): A want of opportunity; We as men speaking for ourselves and
in conjunction with your wish that a system may be laid
by which we may receive the benefits of and fellow citizens
as Jurymen, a sufficient number of which might be pointed
but whose candor abilities and information might be reflected
to perform with dispatch such business as would come before them
them in this case have a different allowance made them for
this time and [supposes?] One thing may we mention and
leave it to the consideration and decision of you in whom we
have confided. On some show [Hall's?] men who are deemed
suitable through and each county are nominated and
on record as Jurymen; previous to the commencement of Court
the names each are placed together and a suitable number
drawn by way of ballat, those drawn are abridged to attend
Court and receive a [illegible] this time and
those men are also called upon as [illegible] at
[illegible] August. The particular request of your
petitioner's is that an allowance may be made of Jurymen,
and such Jurymen appointed as shall he wast thy of so his
portent a business. The next [sattis..?] in Confidence
of your judgement he adopt what will you think best in
fulfilling our request. And your petitioners shall
appreciate your Worth.
