Mary (1866-1936) was always called 'May'. She compiled her own manuscript of Aboriginal mythology and co-published on the topic. The manuscript, 'Folklore and Legends of Some Victorian Aboriginal Tribes’, was shared with James Frazer who published extracts, but the original MS has gone missing. The research team have searched for this in Frazer's collection, as well in Howitt's papers.
The graph displays the other subjects mentioned on the same pages as the subject “Mary E.B. Howitt”. If the same subject occurs on a page with “Mary E.B. Howitt” more than once, it appears closer to “Mary E.B. Howitt” on the graph, and is colored in a darker shade. The closer a subject is to the center, the more "related" the subjects are.
