Little Jack - (Snowy River) says:

Katūng= Fresh water - wāring= sea water

If a man sees a Kangaroo coming towards him or
across his path it means foes - if following him
it means friend - the same for Emus.
L. J. would not kill one under such circumstances.
The Crow is a great friend of the Kurnai and L.J.
would not hurt or kill him.

The Miner (nŭnawŭ) is not reliable
for giving notice and he drives the Kangaroo
away from the hunter.
