negro cast of countenance
while others will have
long straight hair and
a Malay like face.
I am glad to find that
you think these natives
were once a civilized race.
I have also thought so.
I read Sir J. Lubbocks work
last year. I very much
disagree with his conclusions.
His work has in it the
foundation of much that
is immoral. It is a
dangerous book. His statements
about the Australian
Aborigines are often ridiculously
wrong and absurd. They may
be true in some cases but
they are not generally to
be relied on or any sweeping
generalization made upon
the strength of them.
