The tribe occupied a tract of country on the eastern side of
the Wimmera River about ____ miles in width and extending
southwards to the furthest limit of the floodwaters beyond
Lake Albacutya. According to my informants its
class system was the same as that which extended over
other tribes located in the country from the Avoca River
far into South Australia towards the Lower Murray and from
the limits of the Wotjobaluk country to the sea coast.
It is certain that the northern limits of this system of class names
was about the Murray River where the names Kilpara & Mukwara
of [??] and to the East where the class Bunjil & Waa were found.
I give the class system so far and have been able
to rescue it from rapidly approaching oblivian.
