March 1st 1973

Dear David

Recived your letter of the 14th Feb and want to say for Marlena and myself that we would be happy to have you and Thelma as Darius god parents. Glad to hear also that all is well there on your end.

It sure is hard to get into painting again once you have stoped for a while, but it comes. You must find it interesting moving in a whole new school set up. I am sure you will get a lot out of it. (Paintings I hope).

No word from Earl on weather he recived prints in good condition or not. Also still looking forward to reciving clipings that Clara wrote.

Cliff came into town, couple days ago and I was able to spend a few hours one afternoon with him. He has photos off Cuba show but no money to get them copyed into slides. He can not get it done if he don't have the money in his hand before to pay for them. It cost about $1 each to have slides made from photos. He spoke of waiting for money from you to be able to get things started.

Most of my classes end in a few weeks and then I hope to be able to realy get back into painting. I am very pleased with the ceramic part of show, as it begins to grow.

I want to be able to send you some slides of some of the work in the different media before you can write introductions ect. I will do it in good time. Show November. 2-25th, I expect to realy get it together End of March April May June July, before I begin to see about Brochure, ect.

About show in December I will send direct to [Jusk?] new prints and you can ask for painting from Terry. (I will send you names of some I would like you to show.) After you let me know what Terry + Gallery says. Many I don't think have been seen, some of them you have slides of and a few sent end of last summer there are no photos of. But I think December will

be ok. but I would rather you waited for a better month. December is Christmas month and a bad month Art wise. Sale wise People have often things on there mind and people are away from school, true? I would rather you waited. Maybe there's room in the early spring?

I can not [crossed out: wait] wait to see in what way my paintings go. I have just got a lot of new colors, "plastics" have not used them before but feel I need to work faster in the next few months and they dry fast. Will see

No word from Sam in some time. but he is always busy.

Take care David

Love Walter.
