Dear David,
It was so good seeing your work, & being w/
you for that short period of time. Our talk that
night in the gallery was extremly meaningful to me -
and it helped me decide on my present course of action;
that being: to live on the Afrikan Continent for an indefinite
period of time. I will give myself a year in which
to experience, adjust & understand. Before the year
is out, I hope to be "gainfully employed" in
order that I might continue on there.
I have also decided to form a new union w/
a brother by the name of Kamau Foluke (?). He's
from Chicago, lived in D.C., in Israel, in N. Africa,
taught in Tanzania, & his soul is beautiful. I
believe that the union will be good, and that what
comes forth from this union will also be good.
Kamau will probably do work on a PHD in African
Studies at the Univ of Ghana - field work will
probably be in the Cameroons. Knowing nothing first
hand of areas. I have no preference in location.
Do you have any suggestions? - esp. concerning
employment. I will take my resume & slides of my
work - but should I also have letters of recommen
dation with me? or simply request letters to be
sent directly to prospective employers after I get there
