Yaddo BOX 395 SARATOGA SPRINGS, NEW YORK 12866

May 14, 1980

Dear David Driskell:

Enclosed please find the slides you sent us for the judging. I have withheld one, "Studio Window" 1977, to submit to the Visual Arts committee of the New York State Council on the Arts, which helps fund our program.

They have promised to return it to us by July 1. If for some reason you must have the slide at once, I'll pull it out and send it to you. But, if I don't hear from you within the next 10 days, I'll assume that we may hold onto this slide for a little while longer.

Thanking you in advance for you cooperation, I remain, Yours Cordially,

Curtis Harnack [signature] Curtis Harnack Executive Director

Art Resource Technical Service [Blacked out area] George Anderson Re: Steven Jones D/L: 1-13-80 Our file: 80-2-642-MZ

Dear Mr. Driskell:

We wish to advise you that our office is representing Hanover Mutual Fire Insurance Co., who is the contents carrier for Steven Jones, [blacked out area].

On January 13, 1980, there was a fire that occurred in the home of Steven Jones, and as a result, some of his art objects were damaged.

Mr. Jones had requested your company to examine the art collection that was damaged as a result of the fire and it is our understanding that your agent has inspected Mr. Jones; art objects and valued them individually.

I had contacted your place of business and had the opportunity to speak with your secretary, who informed me that you were away and would not be returning until July 1, 1980.

Before we can truly evaluate Mr. Jones' loss, it is important that we have the identity of your agent so that we can speak with him personally.

Upon receipt of this letter and your arrival, I am requesting that you contact me at my Bala-Cynwyd office any Tuesday or Friday be twee the hours of 9 A.M. and 5 P.M.

If unable to call me during the day, I can be reached at my home, after 6 P.M. at 259-2935.
