Introducing
CARIBBEAN & AFRO-AMERICAN
WOMEN ARTISTS
[image alt text: triptych of diffrent images.]
In cooperation with the National Center of Afro-American Artists and Dr. Lois Jones Pierre-Noel,
we are proud to introduce this exciting new series. 78 color slides covering 70 artists including
works by: Edmonia Lewis, Augusta Savage, Lois Mailou Jones, Elizabeth Catlett and Betye Saar.
The works offered here are a rich sampling of Third World Women Artists. Dr. Joned, former pro
fessor of design at Howard Univeristy compiled this collection as a "celebration of women artists
themselves." and as an introduction to a vast but neglected field of art. It is an area which deserves
far greater recognition. Do not miss this opportunity to add a very important set to your collection!

Botero Magic & Reality
This presentation focuses on the works of the Colum-
bian painter, Fernando Botero. These 40 color slides,
accompanied with an audio cassette in both English
and Spanish, develop such pertinent themes as: the
symbolic importance of scale in Botero's work,
economics and politics as cultural fantasy, and his
exploration of man's isolation in time and space. This
program is an excellent audio-visual introduction to
contemporary Latin American art and culture. Photo-
graphed from a recent exhibition at the Hirshhorn
Museum and Sculpture Garden.
Price: $75.00
Recent Latin American Drawings
A recent exhibition at the Center for the Inter-American
Relations is the souce of this excellent sound/slide
presentation. "... the great, great excitement of this
exhibition lies ... in the nascent creation of a new pic-
torial culture", 110 color slides, a bilingual audio
cassette in English and Spanish, and brochure with
essay by Barbara Duncan, touch upon such themes as,
the Latin American search for individual identity,
European influence vs. native culture, the opposition of
urban and rural existence, man's oppressions, and the
role of magic and mysticism in Latin life. A must for any
collection.
