Dear David,

I received your letter concerning
Rodger Rearick's remarks concerning your
salary raise. Whatever his personal
feelings, he should keep them to himself
and not bring them into discussion before
the faculty.
As you know, Roger tends to fly off
the handle. He misquoted me in the talks
with the P&T Committee and in angry letters
to the Provost concerning two of my
decisions. That's Rodger. I intend to
have a talk with him when he returns this
fall. Don't let it worry you or spoil
your Summer.
