Dear Professor Reagan:
Your letter of 3 February has been sent on to me at
Talladega College where I am serving as UNCF Distinguished
Scholar for this semester. I write in response to your
request to use the Douglas painting, GO DOWN DEATH, for
your forthcoming [Encyclopedia of Southern Culture. (underlined) ]
You have my permission to use the painting but at the
moment it is on loan to the [Hidden Heritage Exhibition (underlined) ],
now at the Toledo Museum in Ohio through April. You may
send a copy of my letter to them and arrange for their
photographer to do the work for you as I have no photographs
on file.
Could you please ask Dr. Ferris to get in touch with me
soon about the proposed lecture engagement I am to have at
your institution. I seem to have lost the correspondence
on it.
With all best wishes, I remain
Sincerely,
DCD/c David C. Driskell
