BLACK AWARENESS CLUB
Dear David Driskell,
The Black Awareness Club of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School is organizing a lecture series featuring prominent black leaders in the Washington Metropolitan area. More than ever before, we feel that the black youth need to be aware of, and involved in today's history-making events. One of the ways we feel this goal can be accomplished is by inviting spokesmen from different walks of life to address us on relevant issues facing young black people in today's society.
On this note, we would like to know if you would be available on one of the dates listed on the following page to hold a seminar. The topic would be one of your choice, keeping in mind our general goal. A letter of confirmation will be mailed to scheduled speakers some time in January.
If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or references to other prominent black persons in the Washington area, please contact Ms. Stallings at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School at (301) 657-4900 or 657-4914.
Please join us for our "Living Celebration" during this historical year.
Sincerely,
Illana Lancaster [signature] Illana Lancaster President
