Dear David Driskell:
I was happy to hear that you
are adding new art staff this year.
I've been patiently waiting until you
were back on the job before bothering
again for the Materials that I asked you
for last summer.
Since I hope to have you as one of
the featured painters of my year Course
in Black Visual Arts, I am still waiting
for a loan of slides of your paintings.
I will duplicate them and rush your
slides back to you.
We have about 10 people in our department
Counting the part-time instructors. One full-
time art historian. Obviously I am the black
art historian, and I also teach drawing and
painting at the moment. It is exciting to teach
a black art history Course, parallel to a year
Course in Western Art, but there are also
a million headaches. We'll discuss them later.
