I so very much regret that your kind invitation to attend The White House Symposium on The Harlem Renaissance did not reach me in time, partly because I am now retired from teaching at the University of Maryland but also due to the mail not being forwarded to me.
I called your secretary and gave her my direct mailing address. Certainly, I shall want to be included at future events.
The Harlem Renaissance is a subject I have written about and I have been a friend of David L. Lewis over the years.
