Esteemed Friend

I recd. thy very obliging Letter of the 18th ult. which time will not permit me now to answer so fully as it deserves which I hope thou will Excuse as thou well knows how it is when waggons are here. I am much obligd to thee for the Collections thou has made for me, which Please to send to Hallifax & I shall get the favour of some person from here to bring it in what thou can't conveniently get Changed I must take in Proc. I don't think I can attend Hallifax Court my self. I am willing to wait with Ross till after the October Court as I expect he will then have a Judgmt. if any thing can be got for it & he be honest enough to pay me that way it would be more agreeable than being troubled about his Land. I deliver'd thy message to R. Lamb, who I Suppose will now use both whip & spur if he has but got a fair Start I expect the Old Field will now be divided & taken in, tho. I have not heard how the Lots are laid of, the Old Gentleman quitted Possession about 2 weeks ago, & has now only a Small spot of ground for his Share. Writts were lately sent out for a New Election in this Province, our County of Prince Geo. was yesterday they have at last turn'd out Coll: Bolling & sent Bolling [Stark?] & J. Banister R. Bland & P. Poythress for P. George

I have not time to add at present but am with kind Respects in which my Wife & Nancy Join me

Thy very sincere Friend Edw'd Stabler

I don't expect there will be any alteration in the markets here from what they were last fall
