Srs I am favour'd with yours & bearer James, & by his return send you a bottle of Mustard & a large Pickle pot, hope the latter will be sufficient to hold the Pickles which otherwise must have been confined to the narrow limits of a member mug; I'm pleased that Michl. Wilson has so good a prospect to get out of debt & am much obliged for your attention to my Interest, I agree that the quantity of Cattle in view will not be worth while to drive & therefore think it advisable to give up all pretentions [page damaged] on that head except something unforeseen should offer, [page damaged] I have received the Parsons money he paid it punctually [page damaged] propose to be with you assoon as possible tho' can't under take to determine the day; Saxon seems to be in a poor way but has not given me the least hint of the cause. / last week I gave John Burks an order on you for Twenty five shillings proft. payt in goods but after parting with me he got a quart of Rum at the Store, consequently 23/ will pay him. Sr The bearer Phil. Dosett is loaded with two hhds. Tobco. the property of Worham Glen marked W. G. and with him John Wood brings two hh'ds marked M. G. to be Inspected in the name of Martha Geer, as the Tobacco is purchas'd on acct. of the Company & my self together, you must load the Waggons back with such articles as you think may best suit this Trade; R. R. I understand has bought D: Callahan's Tobco. & N. Harris's Junr. Qty 6 hhds to be deliver'd at Milners, for which he engages to pay the greater part in Specie at 25/ and what they take in goods he allows 27 /V.C. [Ghundd] it makes a great noise here and coroborates what T. H. formerly advanced; if this meets you before you leave Petersburg make my Compts. agreeable to Mr. Stabler & family, & believe me to be with sincerity —
