In obedience to your Mr William Johnstons favor of the 30th march have Shiped on Board the George James Conts Muster for virginia on your Account Goods As Invoice herewith Sent Amounting to £ 372..6. which wish safe to hand & hope will please. have kept as near your Scheme as possible, No Gun powder nor Lead at present to be had here, As Directed your goods we sent to Care of Mr Edwd Stabler of Petersburg as pr Bill Lading who hope will forward your Goods and Letters now two moths ago I Received your favor of the 15th may Covering Bill on Messr Alex.r [Specis?] & Co value £130.. Str when pricd Shall be Applyd to your Credit as part paymt of Goods now Shipt. Since writing the above have Just Recvd Mr Edwd. Stablers favor of the 29th June inclosing Archd Buchanans Exchange on Messr Buchanan [illegible] & Co value £75.. Str which have sent for Acceptance hope will be paid when the money Shall Also be placed to your Credit. The french Agents About three months ago purchased a Considerable Quantity of Tobo. at 2d ¾ p lb they have Stopt Buying Some time ago, this Summer we have had a Large Importation of Tobo much more than was Expected So cha[?] Next Sale am pretty certain the price will not Exeed 2d ½ p lb and if thus at present an ordering Crope am of opinion the price will Continue to fall, For not on Demand and prices less 6/6 pr Barrel Turpentine Cannot sell at any price I am
