Gentlemen I have your very agreeable favour of 3d Inst of Brittain and observe the contents --- your hhd is not yet looked at but expect to have it done before the Waggoner leaves this place, you may depend on being allow'd the highest prices given here for every Commodity you may send, shall Cr your accot. for this hhd at 22/6 which am in hopes will be sattisfactory --- I observe the shone has gold his Partner down which is what I expected by their Inventoring they no doubt expect to do great matters, however they may be disappointed, they seem to talk very large. Esteemed Friend I recd. thy favour of the 30th ult. by Jas. Martin the two Hhds: Tobo are pick'd & sav'd out of Thos. Lewis's 576 lb & Thos. Johns's 628 lb. which made 1 Hhd: 1055. & 150 Transfer Richd Lamb would not take the Tobo. @ 25/- the Hhd: so have given thee Cr. for it @ 24/- & the Trans: 22.6 which I hope will please, I have not taken any in discount lately at more than 22/6 --
I am sorry to hear the acct of your money being so ingeniously counterfeited which will be a great disadvantaged to the passing of that which is good. & if your Treasurers should want to make the Country bear the loss of that which is paid in. I'm affraid it make a great disturbance, I am much oblig'd to thee for giving me the intelligence
My Wife & three of the Children are very ill at present with almost constant Fevers --
