Hillsbo. Septemb. 8th 1771

Dr. Sr

I recd. your favour by Tom for which I thank you, he
informs me that he met the two Ladys returning home as he came
along I hope they have made their appearance accordingly, I
called at John Douglasses on Fryday he told me that Jack
was at his house that morning wanting him [viz?] Douglass to buy
him, Jack said he understood if you did not dispose of him
soon, you would send him to some other part of the country
to be sold therefore were very desirous to live with him.
Mr. Douglass says he would be willing to buy on condition
you will take a good horse in part & give him time for some
of the money, he promised to secure him if possible &
either bring or send him to you for which service I
assured him you would make satisfaction. I recieved a
[Barral of Limes?] from Mr. Cunnison last night, they are very
ordinary but such as they are please to accept of 50 of them
which the bearer will deliver, I sincerely wish you better, &
am in great haste
