Gentn

Your favor of 8 [instance] I received & note the Contents, the Tobo cannot get lookt at to night the weather being wet, tomorrow if favr shall get it lookt at, enterd on the Inspectors Books as directed, & there shall remain till you give orders for them, Mr. McKittrick denies that he ever agreed with you for more than thirty or thirty six hhd Tobo which was to have been delivered by you by the first of April ult. For which he was to allow you two pence [per] lb & also denies that he ever agreed with you for what Mr. Johnston might deliver throughout the year, I remember very well what passd in the Capitol yard, & am still of opinion that your Tobo is preferable in quality to the general run, convinced of that, I have always allowed both you & Mr. Johnston more than the value, & more than you could sell it for in WmsBurg, the Letter of R. Mc. that you refer to, expressly mentions the Quantity above mentioned, & the Agreement quite different from what you narrate, if you can prove what Agreement R. McKittrick made with you either by an indifferent Evidence or in writing signed by him I will see it complied with, but on no other Terms, what Tobo. you & Mr. Johnston may collect this Season I am willing to receive at the Current price when delivered & on no other Terms will I receive a hhd. I have no W. I. Rum nor can procure you any on this Branch, neither have I any Letters or shells, I have given Mr. Veasey a Line to Mr. Milner (who I understand has some) for what he can conveniently carry, the Accot of them when received, shall forward to you. I am Gentln yr mo obt Servt Arch [paper torn]

Tobo Sells here now at 16/~ in [difct?] or half goods half money, and at 15/ all money but I would rather Swap then buy of you at present — I am
