Milners 5th August 1773 Messrs Johnston & Bennehan Gentlemen By the Bearers you will receive 35 Bushells Salt, and 500 Limes. The later I paid 2/6 a hundred for. As to the salt Messrs Wallaces and you will settle that two shillings a Bushell is what we have always sold our Salt for. But as I am not certain but that you and T. Wallace have agreed upon the price I have left it Blank.

Annexed you have an Account of all the Tobacco, that we have hitherto gott inspected for you.

You make mention of 4 Hhds Tobacco that you had sent before the 3 now come to hand. We have never seen any but two. Both Mr. Wallace's are now at Williamsburgh. I shall defer speaking to Mr. Cunnison untill they and Mr. McKittrick (who is likewise there) come down I expect T. Wallace down to morrow. But I am pretty positive that Mr. Cunnison will not allow you 2d pr [?]. As the highest Cash price for Tobacco at present is 13/6. And that to be paid in Proc.

However you may rest assured that Messrs Wallaces will do all in their power towards the settling of your Account.

I respectfully am Gentlemen Yr. Mo. Obedt Servt MacLaurin Gillies for Michael & Jno Wallace & Co
