Milners 25th January '75

Gentlemen

We have received yours by Barnett King and Harris Wood, with 4 hhds Tobacco, also an order inclosed for another Hhd, Your directions concerning there Tobacco shall be duly attended to, but the inspectors are not here today, therefore the notes cannot be sent you. We hope our letter of the 12th inst. went safe to hands, it contained an account of what Tobacco of yours had come here, and had been then inspected. We again confirm what we wrote you concerning the price of Tobacco at Court, We, ourselves, purchased the last, & highest priced at Court, & the offer we made for yours, was more than had been given there or till that period; The Tobacco you mention was sold by Mr. Warrick to Mr. Lyon at 15/. it's true, but there was probably some circumstances attending that Sale which occasioned Mr. Lyons giving [?] more to Mr. W then he at the same time was giving others. & could have purchased at some days afterwards. The price however has now got to 12/6 Sterl. Lower & 15/. upper, and on these terms. We & your neighbours have sold a considerable quantity within these few days. Payl next April. As

As this is the case, we will take yours on same terms if agreeable, but should you have made any to contract that may require what is in our hands, we beg you may not be disappointed, but give an order on on us, which shall be honourd, to the satisfaction of any who may apply for it. We wrote you on the 12 Inst: that we had made use of Six hhds of yours, but we have sufficiency of Carolina Tobacco equall in quality to replace it. King is loaded agreeable to your desire with 28 bushells Salt as to account at fact, which we wish safe to hand, We are alwise Gentleman, Your obedt Servt Michl. and Jno. Wallace & Co
