Th 2 The morning is clear some little frost on the fences done
not much harm. All hands has went to work. I am tryend to
[Left margin: Garden] make a little garden everything is frown verry beautifully.
Got the boy John at work in the garden scraping & cleaning it
[Left margin: Potatoes] out. My Irish potatoes are coming up they were planted the 8
& 9 Apl scraped of the ridge 24
[Left margin: Gun / Silver Mounted Rifle] My health this morning is better. I worked all day yesterday
in Cleaning & Cutting out my Silver Mounted gun, fixing the
Cities. It had lay so long without even been shot that it was
not in the best fix. My saws some how did not work at first
verry well but I got them after a while to do. I will give my gun
a trial soon & see if she will do or in other words see if
I can do, for I know the fun is right, she never was much wrong
I have been shooting her during the year 1819 and ever since.
It is useless to say I am devoted to her she has accompanied
me through Many Seans & is yet verry beautiful. I kept her
through the whole rebellion with some dificulty, I have but
rearly kept her concealed. She has been looked at & examined
by 10,000 of soldiers & but one man ever tryed to take her &
he failed
[Left margin: Sheep see 23 Apl] We sent to J W B Thomas this morning & got 2 Sheep one of them
was in my mark the other in Mary anns (Ewes) this makes Seven
Sheep See entry 27 Apl 3 blacks & 4 whites ones
