Dead ) I see the Banner the death of Maj'r Daniel Daham died
the 4th Inst. he was Secretary & controler of the State for
20 years he went into office the same time I was first elected
Sheriff in 1819 he was the devoted friend of Uncle Bradshaw,
& my self, he waited on me when I was married in 1817, always
my personal and devoted friend done me many kind services in
all my Elections & otherwise allways with me when I was at
Nashville he was a verry smart & talented man ready at all
times to serve me in every way. I was greatly devoted to him
& done all I could in every way to promote his Intrest.(fairwell
