1867 The morning is clear calm & beautiful June Sat 22d We repaired the doors of the Cedar Crib yesterday & today we Cedar) commenced using Corn out of it. All the Corn that was in the Crib) Corn) Smoke house is done except some shattered and rotten Corn We Smoke) finished the Corn in the Smoke house last year the 12th of house Corn) done) June, 10 days longer, & we have about the same amt of Corn in the Cedar Crib this year that we had last year Mag Mag went to Town before dinner did not come back at night. We Yellow Corn) are feding our Yellow Corn

Sun 23 The morning is calm clear & warm, verry pretty weather all Self things are getting along tolerable well. I rested badly all night until near day My breast hurt me verr much. The Crops are looking tolerable well all except Calebs he is a little behind in the weeds

Mon 24 The morning is clear & calm a little cool I rested verry well Self better) the latter part of the night I was much better Town John did not come home I went to Town to see about him, he got home after I left. Was a celebration & dinner with the Masons Celebration) Masons) they marched out to the Trotter place had there dinner & a speach delivered upon the occasion by Parson Young who done his cause ample Justice. Greate many in attendance all things went off verry well. I had some little altercation with Timmon about the land sale I got home at night I eat my dinner with Negro Vote Mr York, had some mutton it agreed with me verry well There is

Little) a greate strugle to git the Negro Votes for the Radicles rain) I think the blacks are afraid to vote any other way only for Grimes) the Radicles. Grimes candidate for Congress made a speach Candidate) he is no doubt discouraged partially so. A little shower of rain, night

1867 The morning is clear & calm Some little cooler in the morning, June Tu 25 but turned quite warm in the day. We worked in our garden, Garden stucked & tyed up our Tomatoes &c all hands seams to be at work in there Crops at this time & are gitting along tolerable well Meal) Yellow) We got 2 1/2 bushels of Meal of Yellow Corn the last we got was 14th Inst lasted only 11 days.

Wed 26 The morning is clear warm & sultry but (clouded up in the evening) Some distant thunder Self My health I think is improving tho verry slow All hands are at work John is working in the Garden, feeding, &c &c

Th 27 The morning is clear warm & calm. My general health is improving I think, but verry slow Hudspeth) Bull) Mr Hudspeth sent his large White (Bremann) Bull by his son, to run in my woods paster he is a verry fine animal & quite large he whipt out Rankins bull 3 or 4 time in a hurray the other fellow would fight every 10 or 15 minnits but the other run right over him in less than 2 minnits every fight. I have been looking over the Crops this morning all doing tolerable well.

Mag Mag went to Town to Jacks & stayed all night William this Wm) evening finished making himself a pair of Cloth Shoes they Shoes) look verry fine.

Fr 28 The morning clear calm & beautiful All hands is at work in John there Crops, George & Preston has some 5 or 6 hands hired howing Mag out his crop I sent John to help them today. Mag has not got Athneum home staying at the concert at the Athneum (Smiths)

1867 The morning is clear calm & beautiful Wm J Webster came in June Sat 29 his bugga this morning about daylight having been at the Concert W J Webster) all night lay down & slept until breakfast left & went home W Jones) after dinner. Wash Jones got 300 ears of Corn (Charged) he is Corn) to report what it makes. The boys have taken there plows to Shop) plows) the Shop Jack Patton took them. John went to work with George Mag & Press (half the day to 12 oclock) Mag got home in the evening with William been gone since Thursday.

Sun 30 The morning is clear calm & warm I got some beef stake for breakfast I relished it verry well I eat but verry little of it but eat a verry good dinner of the Mutton Mag is not verry well been exposed at the Concert. No particular news. horse) Theaves) I have got to believe there is some 6 or 8 horse theaves making Steeling) Rouges) there place of rendavose on the hill & around. Mr Jaggers they have been seen there frequently for some 2 months or more Some of our neighbour boys are engaged in it no doubt

Mo 1st The morning is verry calm & a little cloudy I am trying to July git my yard fence fixed up the Mules was in the yard and Fence garden all night. I was unwell & they kept me from sleeping. Self Sugar I feel not so well. We got $100 worth of sugar Saturday.

1867 The morning is cloudy & calm some distant thunder. William July Tu 2d left this morning expecting to take the Cars for Nashville William he got home at night bot clothes &c they leave Columbia at 6 Rone &) Rone & Shaddon was here today to make a settlement but they Shaddon) went back to see about which got the 3rd. load of Corn they Bull) are in my debt Cow) Cate Milch Cow took the Bull (Hudspeths) today I saw it done

Wed 3 The morning is cloudy & calm it is verry dry we need rain. No rain since the 15th June here & we need it verry much Dan Rice) folded) The bay Dan Rice Mare had a filly Colt this morning a bay white in the face & one hind foot white it is verry fine. Wind &) John is gone to help Richard howe Corn today. There was some Rain) Wind & a little sprinkle of rain Not enough to lay the dust.

Th 4th The morning is cloudy Wind from the South & tolerable high The blacks has a Jubilee today in Town all going. My health July 4) is still improving verry slow indeed. On the 4 July 1865 there 1865)) (was a greate Negro parade in Town Jack Porter got into the ) (Gard house I went to Town & got him out July 4) 1866)(On the 4 July 1866 William & Mag left for Lawrence County drove ) (Jacks horse & Williams Bugga The Negroes had a Genl Celebration ) (in Town

Negro) The Negroes has a greate celebration in Town today. Mag went Celebration) to Town & it commenced Rain at 11 oclock rained hard 1/2 hour Mag Rain Mag got caught in it, tolerable season.

1867 The morning is quite cool the wind is from the West, a little July Fr 5 cloudy William did not get home last night he rode Molla off to Town yesterday morning The rain that fell yesterday Mag &) will benefit the Crops greately Mag got verry wet yesterday the rain) Come home quite out of humor She never got to Town Got wet & turned back & come home yesterday so she did not enjoy the 4th of July Celebration Rain The last rain that fell was the 15 June We had a little shower of rain at 2 oclock, about enough to lay the dust ever little helps. We have a tollerable season Wheat) to Mill) John went to Mill took about 2 1/2 bush of Old Wheat to Neelys Mill & shelled Corn today to go to Mill

Sat 6 The morning is cloudy Wind is from S. West & dizzing rain took Meal 2 1/2 bushels of Corn to Rankins Mill had it ground Yellow Corn made fine Meal The last we got was Tu 25 June it lasted 11 days. It commenced raining about 11 oclock & Rained verry hard Rain for over an hour It has been showry nearly all day at times the ground is thoroughly wet too much so.

Sun 7 The morning is quite warm & calm looks like it might rain Mag Mag fixed up & went to Town rode Jenna Stayed all night at Jack Porters left there next morning for Lawrence County
