(Tu 8.) (Wm stayed at home sick.) The morning is clear heavy frost. Wind Noth.
(Hackney Middleton) I went to Town. County Court sitting on Hackney's business. Ice 2 or 3 Inches thick. Verry cold wind high.
(W. J. Webster) (J. S. Harris) [underlined]$1000.00[/underlined] Frank Hackney resigned his Guardian ship of the Heirs of Middleton. W. J. Webster was appointed in his place. Jesse S. Harris & myself went his security in Cort. W. D. Benduman Trestee on my deed of Trust paid to W. J. Webster Guardian &c $1000.00. he deposited it in Bank today. I had some altercation with J. H. Thomas before I got it fixed up. I was security for Hackney & had a deed of Trust & Benderman was trustee.
(Snow cold) Snowed a little & cold.

(Wm unwell.) (Campbells Station) William stayed at home quite unwell had a chill last night followed by fever. he did not meet with at Campbells Station with the other candidates.
(Blacksmith, old Daniel) (Hinges, Streachers, Frizers) I went to Town. got of old Daniel Blacksmith 8 pr of hinges & buts with screws & Frezers & 2 tap rings to put on a double tree & 2 pr singletrees & a pair Streachers Chain to plow with a double horse plow. All cost $.
(Richd, Jack & Aleck) Richd Jack & Aleck is working repairing there fences halling rales &c & feeding there work stock with my corn. Jack & Aleck is working John Mule & Sorrel Stud. Aleck is to feed his hogs out of his own corn & then he won't have to pay me for his feed at the end of the year. Richd takes Kit Mule to work & Dutch.

William is some better but not able to be out yet David ) David Blackman is putting the Frizers that old Daniel made Blackman ) me on a double tree & 2 single trees It commenced raining this morning & has rained all day sometimes hard got but little done rained nearly all day ------------------------------------- 1870 ) The morning is dark cloudy Wind S. Sun 13 ) the morning is verry cold N. W. William did not come home last night he has gone South My General health is like it has been I am quite weak & feeble I am compelled to take every day some thind to moove my bowels I have taken Brandith pills every day for months some times 2 a day & never less than one I have lived upon a verry light diet for a long time & taken Bull Sasaperilly, & I opine the sores & braken out on my head & neck has mostly disapeared Shaved I shaved & put on a clean shirt. Sow & pigs) We got up one of old Peggy's young gilts with 5 pigs put her

We got not quite half done at night. Our red cow had a verry large find calf I think she will die Rich has taken Dutch to work two horses in his crop ------------------------------- Tu 15 ) The morning is dark & cloudy & rainy. W. It has been raining Rain through the night and is turning quite cold this morning Snow Snowed & Rained bad weather Wm William did not come home last night We don't know his whereabouts he went South last Saturday not heard of since It has turned verry cols & a fresing & snowing a little. I fear he is sick some where & can't git home We still hope for the better. Wm William has not got home yet he went last Saturday, South, & has not been heard of since Said to be still hunting. The ( Oats ) weather has moderated some ) I have had Andy after dinner Weather ( ( Aleck [unk symbol?] ) plowed stud & John Mule. Calvin (Henry) plowed after dinner Henry [unk symbol?] ( Richd [unk symbol?] ) his horse & the one eyed mare. Rich plowed Dutch & Kit all day & Jo plowed Bill & the black horse. We finished sowing & plowing in the Oats at sun down the old clover lott near & north of the Orchard There is by calculation about 4 acres in the piece Plow ) I have finished off stocking a Barsheer plow of my own & let Henry Henry ( Plow ) have it to work with Rich has the Koon & Turpin plow Jack Richd ( Koon plow ) & Aleck has a good Cary plow with a cast Molebord all of Aleck a ( Cary plow ) these plows I have finely done up & layed by Tom Peelar (Col) They are all plows of the first order & runs & plows finely none better. I am by my self entirely tonight. William J & [Hamon?] has neither come home I have taken more exercise today than usual
